I have new info for people who find that there Powerdvd hangs or freezes.

After speaking with Cyberlink they have sent me a patch for PowerDvd 7.0.x.x using windows vista ultimate on 64bit system:

they told me to copy the following link into I.E and download the App

heres the link( dont click it- copy into address window): ftp://156:3QIXQKT0@ftp.gocyberlink.com/CDS/LG/1/LG-ODD_HDS080303-04_R3.zip

"this is for the LG GGC H20L drive"

for other patches you could try this link: http://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/support/powerdvd-ultra/patches_en_US.html

good luck. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Razz

Glad you got it working! Contrary to most people on this forum I have had very few problems with PDVD 7.3 just watched Gran Torino last night played perfect...Great Flix too BTW.

i havent actually got it working YET.

as i live abroad my internet is very limited, and downloading large files reduces the amount that i can use during the month.

Stay posted , when i am able to download the patch , i will post my findings.
but glad that other people are maybe benefiting from my findings.

Yes I downloaded that even with a fast cable connection it took several hours so the slow connection is at the server end. The file is over 300 MB, I unzipped but didn't do anything else with it.

update on latest findings....
after installing the download provided by cyberlink and installing the patch, these pieces of data have not made any difference to the performance in blu ray playback.

so i am uninstalling all the software and going to try and reinstall it from fresh.
