Hi all, I have for the last few months or so been running my AMpro at 1920 1080p no problems but recently my computer got a virus and I had to reinstall. I did this then I reinstalled powerstrip and the rest of the software which was a nightmare by the way!

Anyway, I got to the point where I now needed to watch a movie I set PS to 1920 1080p but when I put the pj on it was overlapping on the left side of the screen and I could not see the icons on this side.. So, to this end I moved the image over to the right using Phase, at 98 Phase the icons finally could be seen! however the image is now folding on the right of the screen. the 1920 horizontal is set at ref rate 68 front porch 88 sync wide 48 back porch 144
the 1080 Vertical is set at ref rate 60 front porch 4 sync wide 5 back porch 36

pixel clock is 148.500 polarity is positive on both.

Any ideas why this would happen as I am sure that this is what it was set at before, should I uninstall powerstrip hook the pj up and see what the computer setting give me or perhaps not use powerstrip settings and use the windows default settings? thanks in advance.

Try lowering the front porch,Wide Sync and back porch some, make sure that front porch and sync add up to the back porch number to keep it even.
Do it in 5-10 line incriments to see what changes it makes. Not sure what type of Sync timing the ampros like, my marquee does not like lower than 1us sync.

not a HTPC guy but i have had to do this on my Marquees also.

The 4600 has a horizontal retrace time of 2.8us. If the video has a horizontal blanking time less than 2.8us then the video will fold around at one or both edges.

To fix it you must increase the horizontal blanking time in the video to be more than the retrace time of the projector.

Your settings in the first post has the video blanking at 1.885us. A bit too short.

If you increase the sum of horizontal front porch, sync width, and back porch to 488 then the video blanking will be 3us. That should just fit.

I would recommend:

Front porch = 80

Sync width = 164

Back porch = 244

Of course you get nothing without giving up something. The original pixel clock is 148.5MHz. The suggested settings raise the pixel clock to 162.5MHz.

Yes, horizontal. All other settings stay as original. Increasing the pixel clock makes the pixels shorter in duration (time). That makes them a little more difficult for the equipment to deal with.

Probably a good idea to make the changes with the projector not on. When you are done make sure the output is still 60Hz vertical frequency and 67.5 or 68KHz horizontal frequency.

done that sir, it worked a charm , thank you thank you thank you! as a side effect the phase is now set at 61 instead of 90 and so is the shift (61 as well)its really worked well, now I just have to reconverge it all as its all over the place.
