how does this compare to 8500, and can it be updated like the bigger brothers? I am thinking of buying one, how is the parts availability on it; hvps etc. what are the weak links that I should check before buying?

and how much would this be worth in the states, didnt really find any for sale over there.

Do you have any pictures. I'm not sure quite what this is, I believe it is a European model only though, I've heard of a Marquee 7500 being the same as an 8500, but I'm not sure what a 6500 would be.

Pictures are really needed but it's likely the parts will exchange with other Marquee models like the 8500/9500, if this is true than there are plenty of parts.

7500 is same that 8110.. 8500 is here side of sea also 8500.
I havent ever seen 6500 model? so how it is different to rest of marquee line is little mystery. If it is build 92-94 then it should be quite similar to early 8000īs.

http://www.projektoren-datenbank.com/

according to that page, its EMF but WikiPedia says it was an ES. I havent seen it on person yet because its 500km/320miles from me. on Curtīs list:

http://www.curtpalme.com/PJSpecs_Electrohome.shtm

H-sync: 15-80 kHz
V-sync: 33-108 Hz
Bandbreite max.: 70 MHz

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_CRT_video_projectors

so nobody here has one?I know it has same tubes as 8500 but the electricals? I dont want to buy it if I cant get parts for it, especially because I dont have soldering skills,,

i do not think you'll be able to upgrade it tot he 8500. I bet all the boards need to be changed including the mother and back plane and power suplies. best to just look for a 8000 or 8500. But it be cool if you did get it to play araound with and show pics here on the forum if it is cheap, like under a few hundred Euro.

It doesn't really make sense that E'home made a unique set for the overseas market, heck, they could barely build ECPs properly..Wink

I'd bet it's based on the 8000 series. Get the guy to send you some pictures, then post them here.

[img=http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7510/6500.th.jpg]

here is a pic from the inside. what can You tell me about it? build date is 04/96.

just one "small" problem; a year ago it had a problem with filament voltage (dunno if I am writing it right..), and I have heard its possible the tubes are damaged from this? he has fixed the voltage, but has not used it since..

Those pictures doesent tell much, but it looks like normal Marquee to me. Propably similar to 7500 model.. Maybe 7500 came with multi standartd decoder board (composite+ S-vhs inputboard) And 6500 without it??
That is pretty good thing that it is build 96.
How that high filament voltage had effected? easiest test would be internal greyscale pattern + G-2 values..

So ask seller to do that -> http://www.etechvideo.com/techtip1.htm

thanx jarmo. this comes with decoder card ( I believe thatīs a card for video-input like composite and s-video?) and ACON but the seller said acon "sometimes" doesnīt work. And he seems too busy to do anything with it, thatīs probably one reason why he is selling it in first place.the price is reasonable for pristine working Marquee but if its defective then I guess I wonīt drive 1000km/600miles for it because with the gas prices in Finland that would mean spending 100 euros just for the trip.

Yep you need new tube for at least the blue and green. There are some for sale around And I have a complete set of LC 8 inch tubes but to ship ti finland it be expensive. also you would need upper and lower mounting plates. Niktec on ebay has them and they have a machine shop to make more i believe from what they told me in an e-mail.

It looks better than the tubes in my 7500. Although I bought it for the chassis anyway. Bought mine for around 80$.

It should have some nice internals though. 6 pole magnets I think. (as it does not come with astig coils and amp) And mine came with -03 VIM (the popular and expensive one).

How much did you pay for it?
