|
|
Hey Guys.
Finally after several months my marquee projector is finally finished. Calibration is done and everything is working sublime!
I have 2 major problems which I didnt have before.
Each and every time i watch a movie the pictue looks a bit wird, because the red and blue color are not in place. Each and everytime I have to use 10 minutes and do the convergence of the red and blue tube on the green! it getiing annoying.and it happens even though I save my settings.
The other thing is sometimes there is a light flickering in the picture. Its hard to describe, but imagine the picture flickering between a darker shade and normal shade.
Any clues of what to do

By "save" your convergence do you mean you "lock" and "unlock" the memory when you adjust your convergence ? Or just confirm to "Save" it when that dialog comes up after completing convergence ?
If you don't "unlock" and "lock" your setup, try doing that next time you adjust convergence...
Also, verify your physical placement, raster centering and toe in are done PERFECTLY, being sloppy about these items is the most usual cause of easily drifting convergence...

I see a lot of drift in a typical marquee now regardless of hours and even had one with a Jumpy Horizontal raster centering that was cured only by re-building the control module.

Well im not that much into the technical aspects of my projector. But I just confirm to "Save" it when that dialog comes up after completing convergence. Where is the unlok loking step that you speak of.
The rest that your talking of is I belive done perfectly by a guy i brought over from sweeden. He did a great jo with the calibration, and tube settings.

What res are you running also? Flicker could be caused by timing issues or a ground loop issue or a loose connector somewhere.

Sorry could you explain "res" What are timing isues and ground loop. Sorry to be asking stupid questions.

Moby, when doing convergence "save" is not enough if the memory that your converging is locked. if it locked no setting changes you make will
be saved. Before you do convergence go into the utilities menu>1>3 to lock or unlock that memory, once it is the unlocked mode go and make your convergence and other geometry or brightness and contrast changes. when your all done go back to the utilities menu and lock that memory.
"Res" is short for Resolution like 1080i , 720p, 1080p etc. The marquee does not like short sync setting smaller than 1us. You need either a HTPC and Powerstrip
or a Video Processor where the timings can be altered.
A ground loop is where one of your sources might have a different ground potential than the rest of the system as if you had one source pluged into a different outlet that might not have the same ground as the rest of the system. it is best to have all equipment plugged into the same electrical Circuit to avoid this.

The flickering *might* be caused by H Phase being slightly off. You can try adjusting phase left or right a little bit and see if that relieves the slight flickering.
Since you didn't do any of the setup of your projector yourself, it would also be helpful for you to push the "HELP" button on your remote and start doing some reading. It is a great source of information about your projector, built right into it.
Also, why not contact the person who did your setup ? Usually, someone with that skill and knowledge will know your projector well enough to guide you through the slight tweaking necessary over the phone and your issue could be solved very quickly.

If the convergence adjustments aren't being saved, and it's set up so that it should save them, then the CLM memory battery is probably dead and needs to be replaced. It's pure luck if they haven't failed after 10 years in service.
