I'm not getting any answers on the HCFR thread on AVS, or even on the homecinema-fr.com forum. Maybe somebody here has some insights?

I used Colorimètre HCFR successfully on Vista last year. Recently I had to re-install Vista on the laptop I used for HCFR. I installed the new 2.1 version of HCFR, then installed the SpyderIIExpress software. I copied the CVSpyder.dll file into my HCFR directory.

Now when I try to take readings in HCFR, it says "CVSpyder.dll returned an error during initialization." Windows says I have the current driver.

I rebooted, removed & reinstalled HFCR, no joy.

Help! Any guesses why this worked before, but doesn't now?

I think there was a version of the dll that vista does not like... IIRC it was mentioned on one of the forums but it was so long ago I cant remember which one or where.

The weird thing is, I'm using the identical DLL that I used before. I even copied the DLL off my backup of the system, and it worked there. So the Vista version is the same, the DLL is the same, the laptop and the Spyder are the same. The only thing that's different is the newer rev of HCFR. I guess if I don't get any suggestions, I'll try re-installing the old version...?
