Hello gents,
I've got a barco tri-level sync board (R762268T) for my BG808.It fits on the vertical deflection board and when intalled, it allows component HD directly on port 5.
The big deal is, adaptation of this board involves removal of three resistors (R28, R69, RR599) and one capacitor (C207) from the vertical deflection board (R7622685).
Does anyone knows if this mod has downsides too ? I mean, removing those components would give sync problems with some other inputs and sources ?
Thanks,
Stan

I highly doubt this, because projector (non s 808) still doesn't have decoder to chance component to rgb. It will work if your source can send rgb (sync on green) from component connectors, but "HDTV" board shouldn't be needed for this.
According to manual board is for RGB with tri-level sync, so board just chance old 90' style Japanise HD sync to normal. You don't get this style sync from modern sources.
It does look like that removing those components would cause problems with other sources.
You need external component to rgbhv (vga) transcoder and with that Barco doesn't need "HDTV" board.

Tri-level sync is what HDTV in North America uses but over a YPbPr connection. So the Japaneese used RGB with tri-level for their earlier HD?

Hulio, do you still have the Barco tri-level sync board (R762268T) and would you consider selling it?
Thanks
Andy
