Yeah...I'm looking forward to it too...That would work... I think Saturday is the 16th though. It looks like you can buy the tickets online in advance...Is that a good idea?

Yep. Advance then pick up at the theater, then run to IMAX entrance and HOLD GROUND.

The movie was awesome! go see it anywhere you can. I was so pumped I almost bought another ticket to see it again. It was like classic trek reborn. Very well done. The sound was great too. At one particular scene I thought, this is going to sound so awesome on my SVS sub, I can't wait until it comes out on bluray!

I agree. I went and saw it with some friends last night. J.J. Abrams pulled off a successful ST film. The cast was good, and we liked the visual treatment. I had a couple of issues with it, but nothing major and overall I really enjoyed the movie. Good sound, too. The damn projector wasn't focused well where I saw it... I kept thinking how kick-ass it was going to look and sound in my own theater.
I really just don't enjoy movies at the theater much anymore. $8 for ticket, another $7.50 for a bucket of popcorn and a Coke. $15.50... Damn, I could have nearly bought the Blu-ray. The one, single redeeming factor of watching movies in the theater is that it's fun to be able to talk about the movie with other folks when everybody is seeing it instead of six months later.

I noticed the IMAX theater where I saw ST used two projectors at one time to display the image. I thought IMAX was 70mm film. I wonder if they superimposed the film images or can IMAX be projected using DLP. The image looked great with very good sound quality.

This SUX!!!! I live in a big enough area to have an Imax, but its not big enough to do first runs of movies. I called my local Imax and they told me that it wouldn't be until the end of June till they would have ST.
I have to go to the CRAPPY theater to watch this flick. Here I come all you movie talking cell, phone answering, disrespectful people.

Hey Cliff...This it's wierd...The website for the IMAX theater in Portage, Indiana doesn't seem to allow advanced ticket sales on the 15th.

Yeah I agree here completely. I was torn as to was it a good movie? or was it good Star Trek movie? It was a good movie on it's own if you except the time line deal. Then again I wouldn't watch TNG for the first 2 seasons due to feelings of betrayal to the original.

I had mixed feelings about the timeline, and time travel in general really screws things up and usually detracts from a movie. The only flick I felt where it really served the movie wass the Terminators. BTW, does T4 look frickin AWESOME or what?
Back OT It was obvious they played with the Timeline to bring Leonard Nemoy back one more time and for that I think it's a very justified decision. I mean that guy is OLD, this might be the last time we see him. Theatre was good, pic was very CRT like but the audio was pushed right to the edge of clipping and maybe a little over. It's ok, theatre was clean and bathroom was too, Popcorn was better than at home. Came to 10 bucks a person with ticket and drinks here in Brighton.

Anyone else notice when the three jumped out of the ship to hit that drill... I think one guy had a red shirt, and I instantly thought, that guy is going to bite it big time, haha. I wonder if they did that on purpose, as a tribute to the old series.
