I don't know anything about this particular projector. What lenses does it use?

This unit was one of the first CRT Sony (1983 -84 VPH-722 or 1020QI)made the tubes are in excellent shape there's no wear on them i was just wondering if there's any mods i can do to this unit that can justify the cost as compared to buying a newer model

well according to this http://www.curtpalme.com/Projector_Rankings.shtm it is 480i only. bandwidth is pretty low.
maybe you can use its 7" tubes and put them in a higher end unit.
chassis with bad tubes are easy to come by.
