Nice Rig! Enjoy the $2/Gallon gas while we can. I haven't had my Ski Nautique out in 2 years with the cheap gas compared to last year I think I will break it out.

I was thinking if the weather was going to nice here. I'd take the family camping for the weekend. The weather does not look like it will cooperate though.

With the business we don't get many weekends to ourselves. So we have to either do weekend activity's in early spring, late fall or weeknights.

Nice setup!! is that a slideout I see in the dining area?

I get to take some Scouts on a Spring Camporee, oh boy. Supposed to be highs in the 50s and rain here in town -- probably 20s-30s and snowy up at the campsite. Ick.

Yea Mike. 2 bucks a gallon is nice. We want to get some miles under our belt before the prices go back up again.

Yes Adam, That's a living room/kitchen slide and there's a bedroom slide on the other side. It definitely has lots of room when it's all opened up....

Hey Chip. If I get lost on the lake after dark I'll wish someone had that fog horn to get me back in..... Smile
Keep at it. Eventually you'll find the culprit.

Gary, its been 70's and 80's here for weeks now so no snow here........well, it better not snow.... Confused

Here's a few pics to get you in the mood...

Atlantic Striped Bass, BTW, both in Boston Haaahbah, both the same co-worker as luck (his, bastard!) would have it. The daylight shot is on my 21 center console on a BEAUTIFUL CALM late summer afternoon/evening.
The night shot is Carl being brave and a little silly, sea kayaking in Boston Harbor after dark (water traffic in Boston Harbor is rather like street traffic in Singapore, only scarier!)

Nice stripers. Almost typed strippers.... Mr. Green The lake we're going to has common catch sizes of 10 to 30 lb stripers also. But I guess its all in knowing where to fish and what to use as bait. I've been researching the lake for about 2 weeks now so I quess we'll see.

Nice boat from what I can see of it. My 20 footer (as pictured) is all I have left. I had a 27 foot Searay cabin cruiser but it was part of the trade for the motorhome. Besides it was an hour to drag the Searay to the ocean and a pain to reload at the end of the day. So I'd rather the motorhome even though cruisen on the open ocean was a blast. And amazing the things you would see out there.

But I do miss my Searay.....

Mac,
We are looking to rent an RV for a week this summer to go to Colorado and are going to go look at a few this weekend. Anything I should look be looking for in particular? It's not cheap. We could stay in a luxury hotel for the same money but I wanted to try this out.
Thanks
Dan

I think the biggest plus is the slide outs. It's amazing how much more room there is when these things only slide out a few feet.

As far as diesel or gas I guess it depends. The diesels have more power then the V8's but mine has the V10 and has no problem even when dragging around toys behind it. My v10 gets a solid 7 mpg even pulling stuff. The diesel is about the same mpg but fuel is more expensive. I guess it will depend on whether you have a choice there or not. They may only have diesels.

One thing I found nice about having the gas engine is the generator draws fuel from the main tank so you dont have to fuel a separate tank and there is lots of fuel from the main tank.

The electronic load leveling is also a nice feature. I think other then that is mostly just regular features that most have. Of course the length is also sometimes a feature depending on what you like. I wanted to definitely have a dining table and a couch and this is only capable on larger units. Then since it was fairly long I wanted to have the extra wheels in the rear for better stability.

I guess the list can go on but if its your vacation, you want to avoid not being comfortable and satisfied....

What brand is your RV Mac?....I can't make it out. The company I work for makes holding/fresh water tank monitors for about 80% of the RV industry, just curious if it has one of our monitor panels in it.

Yeah...We did sell to them...The unfortunately they went bankrupt a little over a year ago. It really doesn't matter for parts as you pointed out since the chassis is a Ford. If the panel says "KIB" then it’s ours and I can get you anything you might need. In the last year we have seen about 1/2 dozen RV companies go away because of the bad economy, the largest being Monaco who built the fairly well known Holiday Rambler brand.

I'll have to check the panel. It also has propane level and house battery charge on the same panel.

I used to work for the company that did the slideout conversions on the Monaco buses. That's too bad, they built a quality product.

We're going to Lake Murray, here in SC. Its about 2 hours from here. Just a short trip for this time out since next month we're going up to PA.. I wanted to hit Canada also but time has gone by to quick for the up coming trip north as I haven't gotten a passport yet. I'm still not use to that issue. I use to travel to Canada every year and sometimes 2 or 3 times a year on fishing trips and never needed a passport. So now I have to get one.

Sure, get a boat and double tow..... Shocked

I'm still trying to figure out how to tow my boat and truck behind the motor home so we have a vehicle to get around in at various locations.
