The HDFury2 is a better device and can drive longer cable runs than the original. It has more capabilities and in the long run is a better value.

What "switch" do you have? Is it a PC 1271? If so what input card(s) does it have?

If the card(s) are IFB-10 or IFB-11 then you'll need the HDFury2 for the driver circuit
If the cards are IFB-12(s) then you can use an HDFury1. The IFB-12 has a buffer ( driver ) in the card.

Your other option is to get an HDFury1 and a GammaX or Buf2000 and run those into the IFB-10 or IFB-11 card.

Alternatively you can try running the HDFury1 into the IFB-10 or IFB-11 and put the GammaX or Buff2000 AFTER the switcher ( on the output side ) to see if that will give you an OK picture.

I have a PC1271 and have tested most combinations except the GammaX/Buf2000 on the output side.

EDIT: Spellignign
