When i power off the dwin the stand by mode is on and light blinking but i can still silently hear it and see the tube neck or ends lit up on the back of projector. It has been unplugged recenly and plugged back in but can't seem to get it to power completely down. Any suggestions?

Unless the solution was to buy a digital....Keep that one to yourself.

No forget digital. Not sure why it wasn't powering down fully, but one night I turned it on with my vp30 remote and pwered it down with the same. Anyway i'm glad everything worked out good. This is my second crt and have been very pleased so far ( first was a Sony 1272) too loud for my small room. When I look at digital now don't know how I put up with so long, dlp, lcd etc. Thanks to Nashous advice i went with crt and haven't looked back.
