|

Greetings,
The other day I decided to rearrange my HT room.
I have had a 60hz hum in my system, due to the fact that the video gear was at the back of my room, and the two channel audio gear up in the front, under my screen.
Anyway, Sunday I got up in the attic and rerouted my HDMI cable and directv co-ax to the screen area.
Last night I connected all the video back up...and got nothing out of the jp.
So I removed the HDMI switcher and hooked the blu-ray player straight to the pj via the 25ft cable, nothing...tonight I tried a brand new "Blue Jean" 8ft cable, again nothing. So it's not the cable
Looking at the back of the HDMI card, I do have the green communication light on, so the card is seeing the blu-ray player.
Yet I can't seem to get the pj to stay on the "B" input...every time I go to "input select" it's on the "RGB A" input. So I try to select my B input and I hear the pj click, but then it clicks back to the "A" input.
I thought I had B setup as my default input, but perhaps I'm not doing it right.
I was one of the first to get Moome's HDMI v1.3 card, and this system has work flawlessly since day one.
Fact is, this system has worked so well, for so long, that I haven't had to even think about it for a couple years...I think I'm missing the obvious.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Kenny

With the right combination of events, I have run across this problem or something like it. It seems like the slot gets locked out and you need to clear something. Here is what worked for me:
- For now, make your default input SLOT A. This keeps the pj from trying to access slot B while it is unavailable. You can set the default back to SLOT B later after the problem clears.
- With the PJ off, slide the slot 2 card out just to disconnect it from the PJ.
- Unplug the pj power cord with the slot 2 card disengaged and wait about 15 seconds or until you see the indicator LED's fade out.
- While the power is off slide the slot B card back in.
- Plug the power cord back in.
- Turn the pj on and let it start with slot A, now try switching to the slot B input by pressing #4 on the remote (#1 selects slot A, 4 selects B, 7 selects slot C)
- If slot B engages you should see the center green LED come on along with the LED next to the active HDMI input.

Aright!
Thanks, I'll try that when I get home tonight...although, I didn't realize that button 4 selects slot B.
I have been going into "input select" and trying to get to it by highlighting my memory slot that I have labeled "HDMI input B" and pressing ENTER.
Should that also work?

"Should that also work?" The answer is yes but a little differently. By using the 4 button method you are telling to engage the B Slot and when it does it will either find a Signal Entry that matches frequency of the incoming signal or it will say 'New Signal' or similar. If you go to the input list and select an entry it will look at the B slot incoming signal and if it doesn't match what's coming in, it may reject it and I'm not sure if that rejection will block the card once again.
When things are working normally, either way should do the same thing. Hope this helps.

Hummmmm, I'm beginning to think there is something wrong with the XG.
Jerry, I tried your method twice, but nothing changes. The pj just sits there giving me a "new signal" every so often.
Nor do I hear it switch onto the "B" input...in fact I don't think it is switching...I think it's just sitting on the "A" slot.

I have an RGB input card in Slot B and a Gen 1 Moome in Slot C and it works like Jerry said. I too didn't know about the #4 or #7 option until about a year ago. I was going into the menus and selecting like Kenny prior to the discovery....Actually I RTFM.

I was wondering if something else was up when you didn't say there was a message 'Slot B is unavailable' which is what my method would resolve. The key sign that you are NOT on Slot A is that the green LED inline with the RGBHV inputs will go out when you are away from Slot A.
Try re-seating your Daughter board (that's what the input cards plug into internally). Just make sure you slide out the slot B card first. You could also try slot C since that will work even with a vacant slot B. I don't expect it to work but it's an option.
So did you try button 4 and see the Slot A LED go dark and no change on the moome card? From the changes you describe I wonder if the moome card is fine and the HDMI signal is not there. The whole HDCP handshaking thing can really make things look confusing. Just to check if you are getting the projector to switch at all, try buttons 1,2,and 3 since they have to work regardless of any added cards. 1 engages slot A RGB, 2 engages slot A S-Vid, 3 is slot A composite. You should hear a click but no green LED change for that.

O.K. I have figured out what's happened here...and it's not ALL bad.
The first thing that's happened is my Moome card's #1 input quit working. I get different LED combinations between it, and the #2 input.
When the #1 input has no signal I get a blinking green light, then solid when there's signal present...with the #2 input I get a red light with no signal, and of course, solid with signal.
So I am using the #2 input.
My second problem is this stinkin' Samsung blu-ray player...it seems to have lost it's program. When I use the Directv receiver for testing, everything works through that #2 HDMI card input (not through #1)
When I power up the Samsung, I get the "Samsung" screen for about 5 seconds, then it goes blank, and I can't get the menu or anything to come up on screen...so basically, I think the HDMI output is being shut off for some reason, even though the HDMI output display is lit on the front panel...this thing has been a piece of garbage from day one!!! My new Modified Marantz 8002 was supposed to be here today...but that's another horror story. (thank you Reference Audio Mod's)
So anyway, everything but the blu-ray player, and #1 input of the Moome card are working...great...
ANYWAY, Jerry thanks for the "input"!!!!!!!!!
