We also think about just how many movies we'd never, ever see if it weren't for the HT... Babysitting alone would kill our moviegoing... Never mind the ticket prices.

THAT is a lot of work, but will pay off big time in the long run... I can't think of a more positive obsession!
Well, the kids are now asleep in bed. We're heading down to watch a movie on Blu-ray from Netflix - with the door shut and the sound cranked up!

I can not find the link but I recall a home theater webpage with a commercially rated door with a triple lead sheet interior!! 300lbs and a STC rating in the mid 50s....far better than a lot of recording studios.
I was offered an old walk in vault door a while ago but was afraid my kids might accidentally crush a hand or a finger in the thing. Wouldn't that be a conversation piece!!
