Well, I was playing around with different frequency's using power strip and as it turns out I think i killed my Red channel. I don't get anything from my red tube, except bright red output. No text no video. I guess i don't have to worry about my eyestrain for a while.

I'm no expert, but I don't think there's any way you could do that by messing with the scan frequencies. Not only are newer PJs like yours generally auto-protecting from out-of-range signals, but I can't see how something would kill one tube's output and not the others.

Nope, the neck boards just go on the Xtra's. Not your fault at all.

This could be your answer, i wonder if the Neck board may have caused some sort of pulsing, flicker, or oscillation... what ever you want to call it. that may have been causing the eyestrain ?

Highest resolution i tried was 1280x1024 80 Hz that's when I got a message on the screen that frequency is too high and projector will be shutting down. Then as an experiment I tried 1280X1024 at around 48 Hz and that is when I lost my red channel. So it was at low frequency. Also I should mention that when I got the projector red tube was slightly too bright and it's the only tube showing signs of ware, I understand that green one should be the first one.

Before I will buy a new neck board I decided to swap the red one with the green. I removed the red tube neck board and was attempting to remove all the connections from it. Two connectors will not come off, are they soldered in or should I use some extra force to remove them? Can I test the projector with Green tube wires not connected, will this cause some ill effects? Attached is the image showing connectors I have the problem with. Thanks
