Got the Runco IDP980/NEC 6PG on the ceiling and running with a line doubler at 480p. Really want to get DVD and HD to it but don't really know how to do it well.
Both my cable box and DVD player only have component out.
Is there an inexspensive way to switch betwen 2 or 3 component inputs, one at 1080i or 720p and one at 480p, and send it out to the PJ over RGB at the original resolution?

Hi Loudmouse,
You need a componenet switcher and a transcoder. You CAN use a cheap mechanical switch like this:
http://www.amazon.com/4X1-HD-Component-Av-Selector/dp/B000BVIBGI/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_2 to do it

Then you need a transcoder like Kim's RTC2200: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=6860.html

You will need all the cables to hook it up too.

Then you'll need to do a proper setup for 480P, 720P and 1080i on your projector.

Hey, something like that will work for me.
I was interested in the RTC2200 but saw it only had the one input (and cost more than the projector). The switcher takes care of the single input problem and I bet they make one that has a remote for input selection.
I also thought about replacing my theater 5.1 stereo to one that has component switching but that would really cut in to my popcorn budget.
