Not really....A co-worker's husband works at Crown and he got a shot of Bruce Springsteens new rig before they shipped it out... Pretty impressive I think.

Crown didn't build the rig, did they? Isn't it the touring companies that build them? Super nice, regardless!

what's really impressive is that they can fill a whole stadium with just those amps. I mean it's a lot of amps but to really rock an outdoor venue takes some serious power. I'm betting they're class D switchers? do you know?

Class D or Class H methinks. Most have switched (pun intended!) to Class D. Lotsa power, very efficient, light weight.

I think they're cool for being quite literally cool running and efficient (is there such a thing as a "green amp"?  However I had one built by Rotel and it had switching noise. Noticeable hisssss with volume turned up and no music playing. For pure audiophile obsession, class A or A/B is still the standard.
I bet the Roady's love em though, they could load the whole thing in 20 minutes without back injury

Holy sh*t, that's prosound porn right there. That's probably somewhere around half a million dollars' worth of amps. Never mind all the networking, control, and power hardware to run it all. Wow!
They look like Crown I-Techs to me. If so, they're Crown's proprietary "Class I" design with SMPS, which according to Crown is even more efficient than typical Class D. Even on their smallest I-T4000 model ($5000/ea.), they're claiming 2000wpc into 4-ohms from a 20A breaker. These things are totally networkable and can be remotely controlled and administered via computer software. Pretty cool sh*t.

Oh, and check out the drop test video where they drop it from 2, 4, and 6.5 feet - powered and playing music.
Pretty kick-ass hardware.
