The Oppo will whip those units in PQ, SQ, everything etc., not the Pioneer 09FD but the 500$ to 750$ units, I am working on some mods to put the Oppo on level of the 2200$ Pioneer 09FD, but no point in even discussing them as it starts a fight everytime, so don't ask

anyway Smile

read my review for my opinion on it, I have owned, reviewed or modded nearly every BD player out there, this is the one that everyone has been waiting for:

I bought a Samsung 1400 with 6 channel analog out from e-bay seller tradeport usa for $111. delivered, B-stock refurb. Came with everything including the remote, box, and cables. Works perfectly fine and cheap as hell. I haven't see any of the bugs people talk about but dam those Blue ray discs are fragile, slightest little scratch and it spits it out. Watched an old fave last saturday, LOTR on DVD extended and it never looked better.
To be honest the Samsung is a little better designed than my old Toshiba A2 with faster load times and the remote is much better layed out and ergonomic. Both are hooked up with 3 x 1 switcher and Blue jeans HDMI Belden cables.

The whole reason I asked was because i just want a cheap bd player. The av receiver is nothing special just a cheap Harmon/Kardon. I have the OTA hd receiver, at sometime I will add a Direc-tv receiver. The good stuff is going on my Barco.

I've seen that one but I read that it was 5.1. The H/K is a 6.1, I know that you will only have 5.1 or 7.1 analog out on the bd players. My thought is if I pick up one that has 7.1 I can just leave off the rear center channel. Maybe I should not be that picky the people who will be watching the pg the most will be my wife and daughter. I play the ps3 on it now.

I could always leave the ps3 on the pg. Once the Oppo comes out i could pick that up and put that on my Barco.

Hell I don't know. Confused
