There was some discussion about BD players. I have a BDP S1. A bit slow Shocked but great picture and ROCK SOLID!

W/ the new firmware it supports almost all of the fancy audio formats... except DTS hd master audio..

So i'm set except for BD Live.... Has anyone here used it? I dont think i need it.

Nope. I have no use for that stuff.

I have to say one of the most annoying things about Blu-ray (and HD DVD had something similar so this is not a slam against BD) is the dialog box that more often than not pops up on BD discs saying that "There are updates to the disc available... would you like to download them now?"

NO! I just want to watch the god-damned movie.

So since i have never hooked up to bd live, i have never seen it! Bonus!!!

The only thing is the audio. DTS master audio sounds like it the bees knees.....

I was on their site and it said you need hdmi 1.3 for DTS HD master.... it may be part of my upgrade path

I don't use BD Live. Disabled via AnyDVD HD so it never even shows up.

That reminds me... I'll disable BD live in my PS3 setup menu... maybe that'll also stop the discs from asking if I want to do updates... (?)

That reminds me of that spywayre interactual player that was on so many disks in the '90's. yeah ok sure install spyware on my computer and track exactly which disk's I watch Fck YOU! Laughing

as far as I'm concerned the extras on teh disk are just fine. I don't bother connecting my Bluray players or PS3 to the internet. Thanks for the tip on AnyDVD HD, I'll have to look for that next time I'm on the HTPC.
