Oh man I hope this is a new contest! I'm always like the 100th person to post not the first. Laughing

Curt's probably busy trying to find a way to delete this thread before word spreads that this is a new contest. HA! Razz

Isn't there a difference between your bragging and someone who is NOT a professional resellers' bragging about his find ?

I mean no offense, but the ONLY reason you buy projectors is to resell them for a profit(or strip the parts to profit from them...), you don't enjoy them at all, you're just a speculator, so while its great for your bottom line, it doesn't mean anything like what it means when someone gets a great find they're going to actually USE, right ??

Kinda like the difference between a dog fancier who breeds for the love of the animal, and a puppy mill, isn't it ?

If I'm way off base, let me know and I'll delete this post lickity split...

Barco Cine9 or 909. The menu's the giveway and I know they changed the grid to look like that on the very late model units.

So how much Curt?

Zactly right.. Not sure yet. I have 4 Cine 9/909 here right now, with dibs on 2 more. Two cases are trashed, two are almost mint. I need a test chassis, but not one with 417 hours. One set has text wear. Two don't work and are missing boards.

I want to test run this set for 24 hours at least, check all functions, and test all other boards I have. With this set having three power supplies that all interact, the learning curve is tough, but I'm slogging through it.

Assuming that I sell this 417 hour set with mint everything, it should get $9-10K or so, considering it was a $60K set not 3 years ago.

And Elaine, we're all at various levels of sets, whether we paid retail or got them for free. Heck, even an old Sony KP5220 is a score for someone that has never had a CRT before. You're right, I'm in it for the money, but when buying stuff as is, it's nice to run across a super low hour set, which offsets the three others that don't work, and are missing parts. I'm also pretty damn passionate about my profession/hobby, so I get to be as much of a kid in a candy store as anyone else. Smile

Of course it is, it's a contest as to who has available cash. Wink

I actually have 4 tentative buyers, but of course who knows until the money is in the bank.

Mike, one will become my test chassis, so all I really need is one lid, so it might be do-able. Let me get them running first, expect another email soon. Smile

Yup. Don't count those chickens yet...

Reminds me of someone who spent a LOOONG time developing Barco mods after approximately 50 people here showed great interest in purchasing them once they were available (and they were given a ballpark price too). But once available, basically nobody opened their wallets. Sheesh.

Barco mods, hmm, reminds me of some-one who did shell out 700 Euro's to end up with boards that didn't work/without demonstrating improvements. They were rightly shelved after that.

"While we are all bragging..."

I woke up this morning with a woody and noticed that it was considerably smaller then it used to be. Depressed, I found my self wondering Great, now what am I going to do with only ten inches? I'll be the laughing stock of the gym shower.
I'll have to hang my little head in shame Laughing
