Good good, glad it's working.
Those settings are by no means the only ones that work, just the ones that work for me.
You should keep your eye on the beliyaal MPC-HC thread - eventually his changes will end up in a proper SVN build (the normal WIP builds) and then they'll be incorporated into a proper MPC-HC release.
I really love the open source/non-mainstream commercial solutions, like MPC-HC/Zoomplayer/Anydvd Hd/ffdshow. As opposed to mainstream commercial stuff like Powercrapdvd, or letting ATi/Nvidia mess with my image by using DXVA.

OK - I'm ready for the sound bit! 
Currently I have Reclock installed, along with FFdshow (Audio processor and splitter loaded in external filters in MPC-HC).
The Creative card does have the option for kernel streaming and has bass management..

It’s making noises already 
I have a Yamaha DSP-AX2 and I’m intending to use the 5.1 inputs from the analogue outs of the soundcard. I have only four speakers connected to the Yam. Front L+R full range with phantom centre (I sit in the middle) and no sub.
I’ve had a little fiddle with the settings on MPC_HC but am having trouble getting a 4 speaker setup to stick...

Finally got around to resurrecting this thread.
I’ve put a lot of work in recently trying to get thing running “just so”.
The story so far:
Got the new HTPC hardware.
Dual 2.8Ghz on a Asus board with 2GB ram.
30Gb SSD “disc drive” for C:
NVidia Quadro FX 3400 connecting to the G70 via good ol’ RGBHV
Xp32 bit patched to the nines.
I’ve installed MPC-HC (Beliyaal) and all other stuff mentioned in this post.
I’ve noticed one oddity:
Out of the box install has always resulted in two channel via the SPDIF (my Yamaha AX2 reporting 70mm surround (Prologic at best)). Some fiddling and I could persuade it to deliver 5.1 Dolby Dig / DTS. Once in this mode I notice terrible “hunting” pans – as if the camera doing the panning had a mount plagued with “stick – slip"). The pans would appear to judder / stutter terribly. Revert to two channel sound via the SPDIF and super smooth pans return.
WTF is going on?! 
I’ve tried literally a dozen different players and they all play silky smooth in two channel and jerky in 5.1+
MPC-HC shows this worst of all with KM Player showing the problem least of all.
Tried:
MPC-HC
SM Player
TVP
HaiHai Universal
GOM Player
Another VLC
The KM Player
Etc – you get the idea.
All exhibited this behaviour with or without Reclock, when using 5.1 sound.
Now at the moment I’m using the onboard Realtek sound card until my Auzentech turns up at the end of this week. Previously I’d been using a Creative X-Fi which exhibited the same effect.
If I could fix this I’d be sooo happy!

PS: I'm concentrating on getting DVD to work properly before moving on to Blu-Ray.

Success! – I finally sorted it out..! 
The solution is to dump MPC-HC, dump Reclock, dump FFDshow tryouts – in fact dump everything except The KMPayer!
Then after a reinstallation of XP (as a precaution to make sure I could repeat the results and that I didn’t have any spurious junk left behind from uninstalling all that other stuff) and an installation of AnyDVDHD and “The KMPlayer”, everything just worked and no lurching / juddering / stuttering / tearing.
I can now play DVDs flawlessly at 1080p over RGBHV with DD / DTS via SPDIF with no complaints about any aspect of the picture or sound (in fact the results are better than my old SDI / Crystalio 1 scaler combi.).
To play Blu-ray with this player, I find the best option is simply to drag the m2ts file (the big one is usually the movie) into the player window – after a couple of seconds thinking about it, it simply plays!
I need to do further tests to see if HD soundtracks are working via the analogue outs of the sound card – certainly I can get DD / DTS sound from either SPDIF or analogue out.
The only thing I have to do when playing Blu-ray is to reduce the gamma (which I had to boost to get DVD right).
So no need for a faulty Moome card, no need for HDMI / DVI and no need for a suite of s/w when one app (finally found) does it all!
