This is the thread I referred to if anyone wanted to look, go down to the member Dean McManis.

I just read his post, he sounds like an idiot!!! No CRT can resolve 1080p, Bull sh*t!!!!

Athanasios

Not to mention this priceless quote:

"...the real purpose of the 812/912 was mostly more light output with the 912 putting out 500 lumens (2X most 9" CRT FPTVs, but about half the light output of the average sub-$2K DLP FPTV)."

So he's saying that a G90 is half as bright as a 912 which is in turn half as bright as a SUB 2K DLP (circa 2002!!!)

Maybe in ultrabulbshowroomtorchmode, but properly calibrated NO WAY!

Like I stated in my reply to your Pm There seems to be more misinformation than information being passed around lately , and the problem gets compounded by these internet self proclaimed Guru`s.

Quote:
From my point of view, NO CRT projector, front or rear, can fully resolve 1920 X 1080 pixels. None.

Quote:
And I'd say that the best 9" CRT FPTVs can do maybe 1600 X 1200 when setup by and expert, and most regular DTV RPTVs and FPTVs with 7" CRTs can resolve around 1250 X 850 resolution max.

I also heard somewhere that Dean McManis Has cataracts and undiagnosed glaucoma.

Oh c'mon, he's right. CRT's don't have pixels, and if you put two together, they sure won't reproduce them. Thumbs Up

Don't know if I should post this, but I was a bad boy and threw in an offer of 100€, yes yes I know, don't say it :/ BUT then the seller of the item threw a counteroffer. 6000€. So if somebody out there is interested to buy this, seems that's the price you'd have to pay.

Scroll down and see the next post, he is the original owner , sold it to the current ebay seller.

sorry,
second owner.
I bought the unit in non working condition.
After the repairs, the owner didn't want it back.

regards

I also noticed this right away when it appeared on Ebay. The price they are asking now is just outrageous. Somebody is just trying to make a quick profit. I sincerely hope nobody buys it for the price they're asking. A damned shame it didn't end up to an enthusiast (at least yet).

The seller is a CRT reseller and has been in business for quite a while. MrKing bought a large batch of PJs from him a couple of years ago, and I bought quite a number of NIB tubes. Everything was as described.

Do you think Curt would list this PJ for $5k?

Thats an insane price for a PJ and how much was the repair job if the guy didn't want it back?? I bet when you light up this baby the rest of the street goes dark so the picture will be really bright.
