Crt PJ are great. Expect to do all thats been suggested above and other maintenance along the way though. CRTs do require attention so perhaps you should decide if you are willing to put the time and effort in before buying one.

Hi again, If you can see the wear through a L/C lense in a picture is this bad? Only slight wear as per tube rating on this site. Only pictures not viewed in person and I cannot post them it came in a 15MB file. 6900 hours ontubes and 7015 on machine.

If the wear is broad and even it is probably ok as you can stay in the wear area but that will be hard to tell from a photo with the c element on. Also, assuming this is a marquee the green c element will hide wear and make it look less and green is likely to show the most wear. Flash and lighting can also impact perception of wear. At the end of the day it can be hard to tell from a photo and more so with LC tubes.

Well it's a gamble then , but only $1000.So if it works on arrival theres room for tube [hopefully only one] replacement.

Text wear will be your main concern, it will be on all tubes and virtually impossible to see with the lenses on. Is there anyway to get him to take one of the lenses off ?

Can you get him to turn it on and put up a full 100ire image on a white wall even ?

Doesn't look to bad at all if you keep the image in the wear area you'll be fine.

Or you might get the projector with a couple of quarts of oil in/on it (happened to a friend of mine). The tube looks good if the pictures are an accurate depiction of the phosphor, it is broad and light wear. You should be able to stay with the wear area easily. That of course assumes no text or sport burn issues.

I am guessing he wants more that dturco is willing to pay still it never hurts to offer. On the other hand that seller is located in Virginia Beach which is close enough to the dturco's location to avoid shipping.

Good point, I like to try to keep my word on offers I've made until the deal closes or falls apart. I thank you for pointing this out to me and I did look at the link but could not find a way to contact. It is still an option though. Thanks again. Or Curt might PM me with a deal I cant refuse?

If you are a member of AVS you can login and PM other members through the site (same as on Curt's). I clicked on his name and it took me to his profile and there was an option to send him a PM.

Dturco you posted a public message on the forum, not sure if you also sent him a private message. In case you haven't it's simple, click on his name, and click on the second item in the pop-up menu. Many posters (not me) have enabled notification emails for private messages, so he will see it before visiting the forum. Always ask about condition and features first before talking price.
