I'd say the toads are a pretty minor worry compared to the snakes, the spiders, the crocs, the sharks, ........ Laughing

Seriously, it sounds like you don't have to worry about them TOO much unless you try to eat them. Which the crocs (and snakes, goannas, lizards, etc) do, with fatal results. The bufotoxins in the cane toads' skin stops their hearts. They're worried about crocs going extinct because they haven't learned to leave the toads alone.

Just another example of people screwing things up. (Cane toads were imported from Hawaii in 1935 to try to clear the cane beetles out of sugar plantations in Queensland. Now they're taking over the place.)

I don"t forget about the Box Jellyfish too. Very impressive toad. I hope to get to Australia for an extended vacation in the next few years as it sounds like a fascinating place.

I don't doubt there are some huge toads down there... I mean, something has to eat those giant damn spiders we saw the pictures of... But... And I don't mean to be the buzzkill, here - There was some Photoshoppin' going on in that picture. Not that isn't cool and everything... Admirably done, but missing some major elements to make it completely convincing...

Also the feet above the mans hands are the same image flipped. I'd say the whole image is flipped horizontally as his wedding band apears to be on the wrong hand but hey it's the other side of the world things work backwards there Laughing

The only thing I see wrong with it is that the Dead Kennedy's hadn't even been born, yet back then.

Check this article out:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article1577205.ece

Quote:
A cane toad the size of a small dog has been killed by self-styled vigilantes in Darwin, raising fears over the poisonous animal’s rapid spread across a swath of northern Australia.

Believed to be the largest toad found in the Northern Territory, the 20.5cm (8in) monster was caught by residents dedicated to stopping the toads from colonising the north of the country.

Quote:
The toads are astonishing breeders. Females can lay up to 35,000 eggs at a time. Observers have reported entire banks of ponds moving because they have been carpeted by cane toads.

"Banks moving?!?!?! Carpeted by cane toads?!?!? Nasty!

Sorry to say I missed the writing on the wall too. I can't ever remember listening to the DK's so I wound't have recognized it anyways.
