Apologies for what must be a common question, but I've seen COG mentioned and haven't been able to find out what it means, even through google.

I'm guessing it's an automagic converge routine for the R and B guns?

Thanks,
Dan

No, the optional convergence on green board ($1200(?) originally) option, allows the same amount of zone convergence as the BArcos do for the R and B tubes. That extra control over the green tube geometry allows for perfect geometry. Without it, you're always off a bit, not usually visible though when watching a movie.

It's also mandatory on both sets when stacking or blending sets.

Wow. I have COG on my Runco and just thought it was standard.I used my digital as a reference for convergence and then converged the green first then R and B.I thought this was standard on all Barco's Shocked
I cant imagine getting perfect geometry without it.

You should also have horizontal linearity in the Runco and though that is a software option that is not standard on all but the latest Barcos.

Curt has them right now and at a good price, I had the paypal button ready to click to buy from him when I discovered my unit had it installed already (Runco 1101) these are super hard to find at this point

for a perfectionist this and contrast modulation (both stock features on a NEC XG) are mandatory IMHO

You need to go back to an analog projector with the thumb screw setup. Try and get that perfect. Laughing

Hmm did you follow the instructions as outlined on Curt's side in the Barco area? And if so did you double confirm everything was set correctly including the jumper on the board? I didn't get it right the first time and had the same problem. Also what model projector do you have?

I think that is your problem. From the instructions: "PLEASE NOTE: FOR USE IN A 1208s/2 USE the 700 position, I will try and confirm for other
projectors but that IS where is works. I am under the belief that the markings on the boards are either wrong OR misunderstood." My recollection is in my Data 808s I also had to use the 700 position. I am assuming here you have a non 700 series projector.
