I have been trying to score a set of 5.1 headphones for late night Bluray viewing and gaming.
There are quite a few manufacturers. Has anyone got a recommendation of a set?

It's not my family I'm woried about. It's the neighbours. I tend to run fans alot ( it's tropical in here all year 'round ) and then I crank up the volume to compensate.
Eventually it'll piss someone off.
So 5.1 headphones? Anybody?

Just get a nice pair of headphones and use a Dolby Headphone surround sound processor. That way you get the best of both worlds. I have a pair of DT770 Pros that will blow your ears off your head for music. When I want to listen to a movie I have a Sony processor that hooks into the optical output from my DVD player.

I don't listen to music anymore. No time.

Are your headphones 5.1 units or just plain old 2 channel?

Plain old 2 channel. Dolby Headphone does all the processing. Download a trial copy of Powerd DVD 7. It will work for 30 days and has Dolby Headphone processing built into it. You can hear the difference for yourself.

Yeah I've heard that it's ok but I still need a set of 5.1 headphones. Prefer standalone that I can pair with the PS3/XBox360 for late night gaming and have 5.1 analog inputs for Bluray and HTPC/Gamming PC.
