Can somebody give me please some support?
I have a Barco BD801s CRT beamer with sync problems at the resolution of 1080p.
All other resolutions give a very nice picture but the highest one (1080p) projects the film with
a shift to the left. The picture itself is fine and sharp, but just shifted to the left.
I tried to shift it back with the beamer parameters, and this helps a bit, but at a shift level at 0%
the problem is solved halfway.
The other day I read on the Palmer web page and the forum the GammaX box will do the job, and so I ordered one.
A few days ago I have received my GammaX and the HDFury boxes. The HDFury works fine in all the resolutions.
But the promised hor. shift repair what the GammaX box would do is not that good. It helps,
but only 25% of the problem is solved. (Moves the picture 25% back to the right)
Watching the Star Wars 1080p films at a resolution of 1080p, versus 720P, the 1080p gives a sharper picture on my Barco BD801s, and it seems the picture has a bit more depth. So the video of this equipment can support this frequency.
My questions:
1) Is the GammaX box made for another sync-shift problem, or could mine just be broken.
2) If the GammaX box can’t repair this shift problem, is it possible to swap the sync board
from the BG801s with the one in my BD801s, (because the DG801s specs says it can handle this high frequency) so the sync problem would be solved for the 1080p resolution.
3) Is this an expensive board?
Can somebody please give me some support?
Thanks by forehand,
the Mollenvanger.

Sounds that problem is your sources timings made for digital devices. With scaler or pc you can chance timings to work for your projector.
1080p is too much for 801s ES focus tubes anyway, 1080i gives sharper picture and stress less electronics that means also lower fan noise.

Yes, only a scaler can solve your problems as it is related to porch timings which are too short for your projector.
What is your source?

Thanks Ile for your reply,
Yes, I have seen the specs, but getting in the 1080p mode a better picture, I thought to use this resolution.
The 1080i mode gives the same quality picture, and the fan's do not run faster or the temp gets higher.

Thanks r.bauer for your reply,
My source is a Sony Vaio PC and the movies comes from a Dvico TVIX HD M-6500A Version 2.
Both are connected via a HDMI cable to a HDFury-2 ( http://www.curtpalme.com/HDFury2.shtm ) on port 3.
Both gives the same amount of shift.
I have also used the HDFuty (old type), and this one gave a mutch bigger shift to the left.
