Yeah, OK that make sense. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I knew it and forgot it.  Yeah, so the DTV1200 was announced in '01. Man, I can't believe that was almost 8 years ago... Damn, I'm getting old.

Bear with me, I'l report all about it. I want to make sure that it is in fact legit. A couple of forum members got screwed around this weekend, so I insisted on pix before releasing the Paypal dispute for the money I paid for it. A bit tense over the weekend, but now that the seller has spent at least $10 on long distance phone calls (assuming he doesn't ahve a phone plan), I'm guessing the deal is legit. I'll know in about a week or so.

We'd know if Chip (the OP in this thread) and I hadn't been jerked off for six+ hours by the seller Saturday, and Curt and I for another four or more hours on Sunday. Funny part was the seller, by cell phone, bemoaned CraigsList flakes more than once!
On Sunday I was at home and working, waiting for a call that never came. Saturday it was Chip and I waiting around my place playing with the 9500 for three hours, then driving to Boston and hanging around a parking lot for another 2.5. On the plus side, the parking lot was behind Symphony Hall and in the vicinity of Northeastern University, The New England Conservatory of Music, and several big schools where cute young things walk by regularly. 
When the DTV-1200 is safely among friends I'll (with Curts' permission) document all the phone calls and other bafoonery that went into this debacle.
Curt, the pics are from the boys at the Pilot Air terminal?

No, he claims that he 'forgot' that a business around the corner from him was a packing depot, and didn't charge him to pack it. Go figure.
He also 'claims' that you guys were 5 blocks from him where his car broke down, and 'refused' to go to him to grab the set. Ummmmmm, yeah.
Funny though, like you said, he didn't sound as flaky on the phone, and called me about 4 times yesterday either asking for instructions or letting me know where things were at. He sent about 9 pix taken via his Blackberry or other PDA, so unless he's the best scammer that I've ever met (who loses money by calling long distance several times), I am pretty sure I'll see that set next week, right before the 45 day deadline for Paypal disputes.

We were five blocks from him at one point, when he was broken down in the middle of a busy Boston street. He was also about five blocks from the Boston police Area D command center.
I can imagine trying to three-point turn a Chevy Suburban so it would be butt-to-butt with his Explorer, then make like a Chinese fire-drill transferring something large and expensive from one vehicle to another. "Nooo.... officer. This is legit!"

Trust me, and Chip will back me up. In THAT neighborhood, the police don't need to know WHAT an item is. If its' being hand-carried out the back of a truck, its' either stolen or in the process of being stolen.

OK now let's examine this. He drove all the way from NH to boston, got "5 blocks away" from getting his money and had to stop because he had a broken shock absorber? How lame is that?
That was the last of about 4-5 excuses, not to mention that where he claimed to be was way off route from where he should have been had he truley intended to meet us.

Yep, we'll do it. I haven't heard from him since Monday afternoon, so I'll call him today to confirm that he dropped the set off, then I'll call the Boston (or should I say Bah-ston) dock to see if indeed it was dropped off. Then I wait.
