Again OT, I parted out a Barco 708 today, one of the 25 I got a couple of months ago. It set a new record for Barco longevity...59,700 hours. Not quite the 68,000 hours that a MArquee had run that I got in last year, but pretty close.

OK, I have to laugh at this one, Curt. You're calling 59,700 "pretty close" to 68,000. That's an 8,300-hour difference, and it's "pretty close". Heh heh... That's nearly a YEAR of 24/7 operation. What's funny about that? I wonder how many digital projectors last the 8,300 hours - never mind the 60,000. Laughing

It reminds me of a comment I heard at a restaurant the other day, two adults were talking about parent/teacher interviews.

The one parent was complaining about how the teacher told him that they didn't care as much about the right answer as they did that the children got the concept.

THe adult apparently fired back: How about you go to the doctor to get a splint for your finger, but instead he amputated it? Close enough, right? Thumbs Up

I didn't mention that other than toasted tubes, the set worked fine.

I think some of you have it a little wrong here. NEC used to regularly give out Doug's number whenever someone called about CRTs. While it is great that Nec is refering to Curt, it may indicate that Doug is out of the game either voluntarily or otherwise.
