Hi,

This may be interesting to people from the UK: over Christmas I was visiting the planetarium http://www.at-bristol.org.uk/explore/planetarium.htm in Bristol. I couldn't help but noticing the three CRT projectors just sitting there, while some LCD projector was actually used for the show.

So chances are they do not use them anymore. I did only get a short look at them, but they looked like 8" Marquees to me.

So if you are interested, you could check them out..

Hmm Gerbrand, derision is ours planetarium man, has you him already ge pm-ed… He has bought its plugjes somewhere where they used several splitpack 908/909s, but that are provisionally not yet released,
hence also the routine retube.

Very Happy

This unit would have made a pretty impressive room . If I had not been so busy working out of town so much in the last while I would of jumped on this unit .
I was going to pm a few people a while ago but I didn't want to ruin it or drive the price up if only a few people knew about it . I have been wondering who picked it up .

That would have been sweet to own that setup. Very Happy Some one can make a killing on it just parting it out. That sold cheap for all of what you were getting. I wonder if the PJs were 808 or 909.

I am guessing 808,the lenses are real close together. 9" machines have more spacing between the lenses.

Actually that Babelfish translation is not bad at all Wink . Anyway: these were definitely not high-end units. For the actual projection of the stars etc. they used one of these planetarium projectors (you know the ones with two spheres, one for each hemisphere).

Just thought it might be a nice lead for someone.
