eye one lt problem

hi there ,.......new to this forum so please be gentle Rolling Eyes
i saw the greyscale for dummies item and it inspired me have a go!
my first problem is that i cant even get the colorimetre hcfr to recognise my eye one lt.
i am a bit of a pc dummy but am sure i followed the instructions properly but keep getting an error message Thumbs Down
i am a member of the avforums uk but it seems to be a bit of a secret society trying to get answers from these guys.
any help would be much appreciated.

Did you get the latest driver from X-Rite? That would be the simplest answer.

Yeah, did you copy the DLL into the HCFR directory as the HCFR or Kal's directions (can't remember which) instruct you to?

i am not too good with pc stuff so i figured that i should wipe all the stuff on my laptop regarding hcfr and eyeone and just start again.
with some help from a guy on www.avforums.co.uk i got the thing up and running.
the problem was the usual human one...........me!!!. Embarassed
