Would someone have a link or picture of the connector on the vertical board that connects to the contrast modulation board R762426. I cannot see any connector on the vertical board for this even though the contrast modulation board has a connector and cable labled "to vertical board". Perhaps I have to create the connection.

Thanks

I wish I could help Keith but it's been several years since I had this board installed in my BG808. I don't recall having an issue determining how to connect the board. The service sheets I included were detailed to my recollection.

Go to the download section of the 808 on the main site. I think the manual is there.

Had a look at the manual that came with the board and it shows a connection to the vertical board. It says for 801 series you have to create the connection but I have had a look at the 808 vertical board and it looks exactly the same as my 801 and there does not appear to be any additional connections. Now I have no objections to creating the connection but the manual indicates that there is an attachment on the 808 and later vertcal boards and I just can't see it and I would like to see how it is done. My wife would tell you that I do "man looking" translated it means if I were looking for an elephant in an open field I would not see it.

Curt

Do the later model vertical boards have an additional connection for the modulation board if so pm me with a price for the unit.

Keith

What Curt has posted is just a flyer telling what the board does and I didn't scan the service manual pages I sent you. I doupt Curt would care if you uploaded an image of them since the board is not common. He may like to have them anyway. If you have an 808, the connector is there.

Had a look at the image you posted with the 808 boards you sold and the vertical board looks identical to the one I have and while there is a spare connector on the board it is not the one required. The connector is a different size and I believe is meant for the orbiting board or HDTV option.

In my BD801s vertical board (same as BD808 I think) there is connector for it.

In 120* series vertical board connector is in different location.

Not sure why you want to use contrast modulation board. You get about 25% brighter picture without it.
It lower amplitude in the middle of the picture to prevent hot spot and it also modulates red and blue to remove color sift effect. Or are you having high gain screen or blend?

Ile

I have not formulated a view on the Contrast Modulation Board. I understand the principle yoiu put forward about brightness but I would like to see if image quality is improved under varying circumstances.

What is the part number of the board you have from the 801. I am looking at a R7622685 and I cannot see the same connectors in your diagram.
