I have searched a plenty and came up with nothing
are there discrete on and off IR codes available for the Barco CRTs, 1209s here
thanks

If you look in the files section at http://www.remotecentral.com/ you might derive what you're looking for. The Barco remotes use a less-typical modulation technique so most inexpensive programmable remotes won't work, but there are a few that do, but its a pain if you wanted to program all the different buttons. That web site has a bunch of pre-generated files for the Pronto people have contributed.

If memory serves me correctly I used to have some ....I used them before I went serial. I'll look around, not sure if I'll find them. As someone mentioned they are high frequency PPL commands and are kind of a PITA to work with. I can't remember if the power commands were address specific or not. What format can you use?
Also, don't the numbers associated with the ports act as discrete power on?
Regards,
John

You mean this post ?
Found the problem! Embarassed The Barco address is 1. The crestron module assumes 0. Simply had to add a step to switch to 1, when I access the Projector pages on the touchpanel. Thumbs Up Thanks for your help jkv. Can put the Barco remote in storage! Always seems to be the simplest oversights that cause the greatest headaches.

my previous Barco 808s worked fine with a pronto tsu2000
I am currently using a URC MX900, it has alot of control over the IR signal output
has anyone connected a IR block output to the Barco IR in port? should work no?

Gary, with all that fancy a$$ $hit you have, why don't you just break down and install a real HT automation system like Tom has. He has a Crestron system and rumor has it that he even programmed it himself

Chip, I have a pretty fancy remote setup including a MX3000 but sold it
I am thinking of getting a MSC400 right now as well, which adds all sorts of capability
but if I did have stuff all over the house and multiple systems you bet I would have a crestron setup

Sorry couldn't find the codes. I'm pretty sure I got them from either a pronto file at Remote Central, or from URC's database. I hunted around in both places today and couldn't find them.
Never used the IR block on the CRT. I should mention that I've use a lot of URC stuff with the Barco, including the MX900. I have never been able control the Barco with any of the newer URC narrow band remotes, (This includes the 900) via RF using one of their RF-IR boxes. This goes back to the issue with the type of IR codes Barco uses. The older URC Wide band remotes worked fine. I just mention this in case you were thinking of going down that path.
You mentioned the MSC400, which is what I'm now using with the MX3000. Because the IR codes "reside" in the MSC400 and not the remote, you shouldn't have the RF issue, although if you do get a MSC400 I'd highly recommend the RS232 connection for your Barco. Many more control options and discrete codes.
Anyway just my .02 cents.
Regards,
John

That's why I suggested he move onto a real automation system. So much neat stuff (ir, rs232, contact closures and more), all with the press of a single button. Not to mention how slick it is to see that big touch panel on the coffee table. Everything that is automated in my house can be accessed from the theater panel. Heck, one button tap and I can view my video security system from my projector and a second tap to turn on the irrigation system if I don't like who's at the front door.

Hmmm I always like the manual way of doing it. I have 20 remotes and a dozen power buttons to push. It just suites the mad scientist in me

now you done it John, a MSC400 goes on my to do list
how is URC with RS232 codes in their msc400 database/software? , about a year ago I heard it was pretty slim
EDIT:just checked out the software, seems to be quite a few devices in there, most of my gear has RS232 as well
this or that would be nice as well:

The database is okay, but it could be better....I used it for Sony's DVD changers and found out the commands provided were not complete strings, I had to hunt down Sony's serial protocol documentation to figure it out. Having said that I've had no problem getting serial commands. Barco sent me theirs.

humpty bumpty, I now have a MSC-400 which I am currently working on, this thing is so awesome, I have alot of trouble with the RF transmission so the digital trigger usage on my MX900 with everything stored in the MSC-400 is lovely
John, I sent a PM for that Barco RS232 data, that would be a huge help
thanks

Gary do not forget that your Barco will use the newer IR Barco codes since your Runco is newer than mine and mine has the newer codes as well. So a lot of the stuff you see on the net is for the older Barco IR codes. Also note that the newer IR should be more easily supported by universal remotes (that was why Barco changed supposedly).
