HI All

Happy New Year to everone. I am in the UK and could use some help please. I've tried searching the archives but cant find anything that answers my query. I have a Marquee 7500 set up watching Sky HD using a HD Fury2. The picture is generally fantastic but I have an odd effect. The bottom half of the screen is ever so slightly darker than the top half. On some lighter colours you can distinctly see the line where the colour changes. It is exactly halfway down the screen and is constant but is just more noticeable on some colours. I had the same effect before I went HD when I was just linking from my standard Sky box via S-video. Is this something I have got wrong with the set up? It hasnt had a lot of use and I cant see any wear on the tubes.

Please can anyone give me some help on this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It sounds like banding but banding is usually noticeable as subtle changes in contrast/brightness. Do you have pix? Getting a decent pic of banding can be difficult. Press the # button on the remote until you get to the all white screen. It's alot easier to see and get a pic of with a halfway decent camera. Banding on a Marquee is generally introduced by the user but can be caused by a board/component failure (rare in my experience). In the all white pattern you may see that you actually have 4 distinct areas (bands) of different levels of IRE.

Take a look here to see if this helps:

Another good thing to do is clean and reseat all the boards and card edges and to pull and clean all the chips or just 'crunch' them back down into their sockets.

Best of luck! Thumbs Up

Very Happy

Another thing I discovered was to do the convergence before any geometry electronically. this helps lower the
possibility of banding.
