That LED is STOOPID bright. IT's right up there with the one in my HDDVD/Bluray combo drive!

On top of that, I have a good friend at ATI who works in the group which writes the display drivers for video, and he already told me it won't work. He suggests I try a 48xx series card and the new Dynamic Contrast feature

Sweet. Some one on the inside.
Technically it should be possible to implement gamma right before it is sent to the DACs. It only needs a driver implementation.

Is should also be possible to inject a pixelshader somewhere in the pipeline. Needs a driver implementation.

For example to apply colorspace conversion a simple 3x3 matrix is needed. (a 4x4 is easily used in a PS with the forth a 0)
Preferably with 10bit output to the DAC.

Could you talk to him regarding some features?
I'd be happy to wright more in depth if needed. Dev teams usually don't listen to random threads on forums so you usually need some sort of contact to bring the message forth.

I killed my HTPC when I changed the mother board. I'm slowly respinning wonblows on it. I have a phantom "PCI device" that I can't find drivers for. I have all the original disks for all the cards but it's a no go :~ Also had some ATI card issues that I **think** I have figured out.

I'll give it a try when I have it all operational again.
