Bad news: unfortunatelly, there is some problem with the green tube. I can see dotted lines in diagonal patterns all over the green image and also, I believe that all the tubes may be emitting light with no signal. Is this a problem with the low voltage power supply? If so, I can use the LVPS from my 8500 and correct the problem. Please let me know if this can be corrected this way.

No, if the problem is only on the green tube, then it's got nothing to do with the LVPS that powers all three tubes at the same time. This could be HV arcing, a problem in the green video signal chain, or a problem in the HVPS. You can swap parts out of an 8500 to the 9500 to narrow it down.

Hello
Make sure there is a sheet metal cover shielding the green neckboard with a ground strap going to the rear heat sink. A short ground wire from the neckboard should also contact the shield.

Thank you for all your help. I will try a few things and keep you posted. I will also try to take a picture of the green tube to show you the problem.
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Nicholas.

Here are some pics of the problem with no input signal. Also, All the tubes light up with no signal. Brightness is at 50, Contrast at 20. on the pics. I am guessing it is a problem with the HVPS. Please let me know what you think. If this is the case I can easily swap my 8500 HVPS and be done with it. I also checked the grounding on the Green CRT, and it looks OK. G2 settings are all normal, low 60s and high 50s.
Thanking you in advance,
Nicholas.

Yes you can swap out all boards between PJ, try the CLM first. its the board on the back of the PJ on the left side bottom. Then try the HVPS.
I have a feeling its the Chips and the connector pins on the CLM needing a good cleaning. If the 8500's CLM works then you know you need to clean the chips and pins.
Also go with the CLM that has the higher Version Softwear.

Actually that first picture looks like a bad anode connection at the tube bell.

Good News! It seems that everything is OK. I checked the connections on the Green neck board and made sure that everything was in place. After that the problem went away. It seems that some contact was a little bit loose and perhaps there was some grounding issue. I also secured the red voltage cables, making sure they are OK.
Thank you all very much for all your help. I hope this will be the last of my problems with the 9500.
I will keep you posted on the situation.
Nicholas
