Well, I think I've beaten it... A combination of re-centering (crossing rubber bands method,) mechanical toe, and width choke has the sides pretty well lined up now. Now to set the horizon, re-check patterns line up, and continue.

I finally have a deadline to work to... Sis, who is a Massachusetts ex-pat residing in Arizona, and my brother-in-law are here for the week and I'll be hosting the Patriots / Cardinals game Wink Should be a hoot.

I wonder what the limitation is with a Marquee that keeps it from doing smaller screens like my 4600 can. Is it the lack of toe-in ability or something else. With a 4600 set up on a 72 in diag 4:3 screen, there's still quite a bit of toe-in left.

No one answered my question earlier about those factory pivot starting point measurments. I can't help but think there's something simple that needs to be addressed here. From memory, the ECP's had two plastic caps on the two bottom lens adjustment screws on the green that you were not supposed to touch and the same with the bottom right of the red and blue. Those were factory set to something like 7/8 th inch then capped off. Is there something like that on the Marquee LC?

Those are schliemphluge screws. On the AC marquees and I assume the LC's they should be 17 mm distance for those and the others. The others you then adjust to get the focus for edge and top bottom. So if the green is off centered that could have caused it to do what he explained .

As you know, that particular 9500LC came out of a retro cabinet that was (if I remember correctly) a 72 in diag screen. I wonder what the throw distance is within that cabinet. I don't think folding the image with a mirror changes the total throw distance. I run a slightly smaller screen than Heywood. If his won't do it, a 9500LC would never work for me.
I'm guessing that the 4600HD is at least 6 inches longer overall then the Quee and has no problem with a smaller screen.

This is getting curiouser and curiouser... It obviously would not effect the stops, but I think I may have had the stig and convergence connectors backward (discovered during manual convergence: up-down arrow on remote corresponded to left-right convergence on screen.)
ACON (which I have no intention of using for the final, full setup) also showed really weird behavior... I'm running another ACON now just for laughs.

Yep, those polarities were definitely wrong... ACON brought things into viewable condition at 1080i and now I'm running 1080p. Time to button her back up, initialize (again!) and begin (again!)

Not exactly... Even I'm not THAT braindead!
Each convergence connector was 180degrees off... the polarity was literally reversed on the connector (the little plastic fingers for keying were bent out of the way.)

Chip came by and made me go thru the Help->Mechanical Setup then Help->Source Setup. Summbitch but it worked, and I'm watching the Patriots play Arizona.

I had to do it, he has company coming over and he was THAT CLOSE to having to call it off. If it was a Barco, I might of had to smash it Laughing He's got a real watchable image for about a 20 minute setup. Right now I'm repairing a busted adjustment screw on one of his HD-10L's that he snapped off. He's using one of my straight 10 lenses to get him by. If I can get out some night this week, I'd like to nail down the magnetics and optical focus in this beastie but for the time being he's fine. If he's willing to put in the time, he'll do just fine. I spend as much as a whole night just working on the green. Once the green is nailed down in all aspects the blue and red are a cake walk.

Too bad that was 720p and all was for naught Wink
I'm running a 1080p setup (Samsung 2550 blu-ray) right now and will do a 1080i setup shortly. Then maybe I'll just watch the damn thing!

Damn, you told me the stb was set to 1080I. Oh well. Two things, 1 you got to watch it. 2 you know it works. So I was not a total loss. The lens is ready for you to re-install if you want to pick it up.

I just watched The Dark Knight and the color was perfect. This movie will give a sound system a workout, especially the subwoofer.

Cool! My subwoofer can knock the can lights out of the ceiling: Should be a blast Wink
