You could get the Moome external hdmi converter available on this site...probably your best option. $320, here's the link http://www.curtpalme.com/EXT-FULLHD.shtm

What 1208 model (there were several):
1208 (rare only made for 8 months):
1208/2
1208s
1208s/2
1208se/2

Depending upon the model, it might not do 1080p well.

If the pana 55 component output is good, then you could also use a component transcoder (unless you have a later barco then it may just take component input).

who cares about 1080p? Send it 1080i via hdmi....buy the moome box I showed you above. THat's your BEST solution.

If you want to save money, then use component video and run 1080i. Someone could probably sell you a component transcoder at a very good price.

Are you SURE it is just a "1208"--that is what the tag on the back says? What is the "art" number on the silver tag?

You PJ most likely won't do 1080p very well, but can look very good at 1080i and the differences are minimal.

All the options were pretty much said:
1) Get a component to RGBHV transcoder
2) Get an HDMI/DVI to RGBHV converter (HDFury or Moome)

Number 2 is more future proof and generally has a bit better picture quality than number 1 because the DAC in those devices is better than the DAC in the source device.

we answered both questions above...

1080i via hdmi with the Moome external with gamma - best
1080i via hdmi with the HDFury + kimcoder with gamma - close second
1080i via hdmi with HDFury - third best
perhaps 1080i via kimcoder with gamma over component is better than above
1080i over component with other component transcoder

A BG1208 and a BG1208/2 ARE DIFFERENT MACHINES!!!!! That is why I kept asking. almost no one has a 1208.

You machine WILL NOT do a good 1080p. You need to run at 1080i or 720p.

Not the kind we talk about on this site that Kim's and others provide.

Have you actually tested these to see that? I'm curious because HKMod and Kim's customer service far exceeds Moome's so I prefer to use them if it is equal. I know with the original Moome, the HDFury/kimcoder was better, but maybe the new moome is better than HDFury2/kimcoder.

BTW OP, "kimcoder" means Crescendo Systems RTC2200 which is sold on this site.

I haven't personally tested...but Kal has, and I saw screenshots which bear it out. The moome device is superior...but again, not sure if it was being tested against the Fury or the Fury2. But the Fury 2 is expensive and has no gamma control.

Thanks. I'd like to know if it is the Fury2. But, I don't really understand the cost part. The Fury2/GammaX and the Moome full are about the same price. The Fury2/Kim would be a bit more.

I'm betting it was the original Fury, have to ask Kal. I have WAAAAY more confidence in Jean than Moome, so it Jean was involved with the Fury2, I'd place my be on that. Wink

The only transcoder I ever ordered from Moome arrived exactly when he said it would...but I guess others have had far less success.
