got my new Runco 1101 in today and from the start already problems:(

Runco 1101 is a Barco 1209s, it seems the set is going into HV shutdown after 30 seconds or so of displaying the Barco information screen, sometimes it will make it for a few mins and if a full screen grid is pulled up out it goes

before the image goes out there are no error lights, but the red tube is raising and lowering in intensity, while that is happening the area around the EHT/Quad is making some serious squishing like sounds, then the image goes out and the red light on the EHT comes on

R762833 is the quad and R762716 is the EHT

any advice?

thanks

just noticed the focus splitter block has got some cracks in it, small ones about .25' deep from the sides in, one crack ends at the yellow wire area and the other crack ends at the 1 red connected lead with Panny tube units

also the EHT board doesn't shutdown with red light when I disconnect the lead to the focus/g2 block from the quadrupler

anyone ever heard of the focus/g2 splitter block going bad? with the cracks and all it looks like it has lived a hard life

I hope so Pete, would this cause the rear quadrupler to make squeaky sounds?

I have a very late 2002 Runco 1101 with newer EHT and Quadrupler and I am hoping it is not one of those 2 pieces

thanks

BTW does anyone have one of the R762120s focus/g2 blocks? below that it has Index 05, 05 16/00-m979150

I've got an Index 2 part from a failed 1208s which itself had an HV problem. Barring any better offers it's yours for the price of shipping. (Assuming, of course, that 'Index 2' versus 5 is not a problem.)

Thanks Tom, I just tried both the focus/g2 and the HV lead disconnected from the Quad and the set has instant HV shutdown with both red leds on the EHT

when I first fired him up and was doing troubleshooting, the top red LED on the EHT never came on, only the bottom one, now both come on pretty much instantly as the set turns on

now here is a good one, am I going to be able to find a R762833 Quad or am I looking at a HV EHT/quad swapout to older gen?

yes Tom, the way I understand it is that new EHT requires new quad and vice versa, no switching of either to old, but you can swap both to older EHT/Quad if need be, anyone have any info on that because unless Curt saves me with newer Quad I am screwed for the newer HV setup, I would like to keep the newer setup but if I can't find Quads or EHTs then so be it

This should be the correct quad and EHT but I also made on inquiry via PM but like you have not heard back yet...

The S/E denotes the latest EHT and quad.
