Wondering how hard it is to remove the bottom half of the Barco 1209s. Can it be done without removing any (much) internals? Looking at spray painting the case.
Cheers

You have to remove all electronics and aluminium frame to get it separate.
Use tape and paper for masking...

....Ahhh, I suspected as much given I noted a few screws directly under the tubes when I was changing out for the coloured c-elements......masking it is then. Thanks Ile

I was planning on completely removing the case from my 1209s before putting inside the hushbox, why is it that hard to remove the bottom half?
are you saying complete removal of all innerds or just the boards? tubes?
thanks Ile

Gary,
Bottom half is bolted between inside aluminium frames and aluminium bottom plate, screw-heads are inside projector. See if you can remove those screws without parting whole thing.
In my 1200 separate tube frame was needed to remove (bit different what 1209s have) and if I remember correct there was also few bolts inside convergence tray and under mobo.

there are 15 screw's holding the bottom mounting plate on. Looks like the Red and Blue tubes would have to come out.

Why take the bottom cover off if it's going in a hushbox? Do you think it will run that much cooler without it? It's already a fairly quiet pj.

I have space at a minimum width wise and with the case on it won't fit where I need it to, looks like I will be cutting off the bottom part of the case

The case removal is very easy - just because there are lots of little screws everywhere
doesn't mean you have to remove them...hohoho!
The six 10mm hex head (3 each side) are all that holds the internals to the mounting plate, and the
plastic case is sandwiched in between.
