I am still in the RGBHV world when sending a signal to my Marquee. I have a Dish 722 with HDMI fed to an HD Fury into a Zektor HD4S switcher. Also fed into the switcher is the signal from 2 computers and a 4DTV/HDD200 setup (BUD). Audio is fed to the switcher via optical; the audio output is to a 7 year old pedestrian Sony AVR model 575R 5.1 system.
With the advent of Blu-ray/TrueHD DTS-MA etc., it is time to upgrade. I am considering a Denon 2809CI. I am sure there are other options, but essentially I am looking for full bitstream audio out of Blu-ray from my theater PC.
Currently my theater cable run to the Marquee is an RGBHV run in the ceiling. Replacing the cable run with HDMI is probably not an option. (I am building a new home in the spring, so what I am asking is a short term deal anyway).
Is it feasible to run my PC's and Dishnetwork 722 as HDMI into the Denon; the output from the Denon would be HDMI out>HD Fury>RTC2200 (gamma)>Zektor switcher>Marquee? Does that make sense?
Would there be a huge difference if I were to spring for the Moome HDMI VIM and run HDMI directly into the Marquee instead? The cable would have to be run externally about 12 feet; my wife would likely grumble a bit.
Thanks,
Willie
