Hello ,
at first ,Im new here so please talk slowly Very Happy .
my foraign language is German ,so please dont look on my syntax.

I use CRT PJ´s from the Brand Sony 5 Jears ago, and so far without Problems .
my screensize is 280 cm and My actual Projector is a VPH G70 (2 Day´s)

So my Problem is an error code 38 on the G70.

I think that the problem begins with the transport of the G70.
First the G70 will turn on and all tubes are bright , then I played withe the remote ,and then there wehere only Darknes .
(And then i begin to cry Sad . )
From this moment wehen i try to power on , only 1-2 seconds later it turns of withe the error 38 (CRT).

is anyone here who con help me ----> P L E A S E <---------

PS-

The external remote (from the 1272) have no function from this moment ,only the internal Remot have reaction.

Im thinking to try with pulling the neckboards off one at a time and see if the code changes. I dont think it will run with any neckboards off but it may change the code to a 39. Make sure projector is off and unplugged when disconnecting or connecting anything.

That's correct, do that. Also make sure the DIP switches are set to 0,1 on the back of the set. If they are set to something else, the remote won't work.

BTW, it's interesting while everyone is screaming the demise of CRT, at least once a week there's a newbie that comes here that's just gotten into CRTs.

That makes me happy! Smile

I think you're pulling the wrong boards.

You need to pull out the boards right on the back of each tube. THose are the video amplifiers/CRt sockets, labelled 'CRT sockets' on the below picture:

Hello,

think I allocate the error !

It must be the G B Board when I pull it only error 20 occurs.

is it possible to do a reset without open the menu (Pulling Battery , Connect two Pins ...)

Thank´s for Help

NO, DON'T DO ANY RESET on the set. There's no need to, and you can damage the software/set if you do that...

On the GA board there are some fuse resistors. R153 and R103. If you dont know how to test or replace these then we need to stop right now before more damage is caused. You will need to seek professional help.

No Problem I Learned electrican Soldering and changing from fuses are no problem -

My problem is my extreme Panic and the pulling of the other boards were a big mistake when my teacher will see this he would kill me !!
the error I think came from the screw (Rendel screw ) I think the Pre owner have lost it in the Projector .

I search for thes fuses on the GA board !!

No, we don't post the schematics for the later sets on this site as that is how I make my living, by repairing boards.

You are not following our instructions, you're pulling power supply boards, not the neck boards.

Hi,

after a long time .....

I fixed my main Ploblems no error Codes more !!!
after changing the GA board and cutting a wire between C Board and Main Board (ident LC HV or so)
I don't know for what this wire is ? is it important ? not bad ! The Picture Test Patterns are very good !

so now a other Problem occurs !

I get no Picture (only shadows or no signal ) over RGB Yc Pb Cr or Svideo , component .
I have the G 70 with integrated Linedoubler ?IDTV? bat it make no sense if it is turning on or off .
i have tried every settings bot now Picture !

anyone a idea ?

Greetings
Thomas Heisig
