so I am watching some TV and all of a sudden the green just left my image, totally gone

at first I thought maybe a scaler problem or source component or etc.(colorspace funkiness HDMI handshaking BS etc.), then I decided to pull up the menus on the 1352LC(mine are set to green only) well I found the issue, no green just a black box where the setup menus should be, so I power off and back on, still no green

no error codes
no weird glow on the raster
the green tube is fully lite with orange glow at back end
PJ runs fine just no green tube output
tried switching red and blue signal leads to green neck card and still no dice

any takers?

just in time for Christmas break with no school or etc, I just ordered 60 new BD's to enjoy until new year Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

thanks for the help guys

Hi Gary, good to see you back, well sort of, just kidding....Mr. Green Isn't the green neck board the one with the fan on it, curious did you swap the fan out to a different one, I wonder if that could be the cause of the failure? That fan is one of the loudest in the projector IMO. I swapped mine out with a 100mm unit just held in with some velcro strips blowing on the heat sink. That was about 1500 hours ago, I hope I don't have problems too, I don't believe in fan mods for XG's but that sucker is just to fickin loud.

Mike

Mike, yes I did replace the fan, with a much bigger one on top of the case, that fan is a joke for sure, but it does make me wonder about this neck card, I did the mod 3 years ago so I guess that isn't to bad a span to not have a issue

I did some measurements, that fan only makes about 2 dec C difference to the neckboard heatsink. As long as you have some air moving over it, then that is not the issue. IMO no fan would be fine.

If you want to know for sure, swap the green for another colour.

Gary, Curt isn't going to tell you how to fix the neckboard - it's his livelyhood.
