What is the "DC H-Linear" and "PLL Adjust (phase loop lock?)" for? These are only accesible from the FACTORY MODE on the Adjust menu.

DC H Linear is kinda like Linearity Balance from memory - have a play, but remember what the setting was originally.
PLL Adjust is for the syncing I think. I would leave that well alone.

If this is true then also be careful not to run this control at or near it's maximum adjustment as it may introduce lines or banding in the picture. I remember having that problem when using too much vertical linearity balance to compensate for an incorrect adjustment somewhere else. (Mark, you were the one to bring it to my attention and backing off the control solved my problem!) Just thinking that if the controls are similar then they might have similar side effects from over adjustment.

Without having the factory info on factory mode or someone who knows exactly what they are for (worked at the factory), everything else would be just speculation. The DC could stand for dynamic convergence in which it maybe be a global baseline for horz linearity.Or it could mean digital convergence or digital compensation. Also it may have nothing to do with the actual adjust of linearity but rather an adjustment for the Horz linearity waveform. If this was the case, adjusting it would have nothing to do with changing the pattern, but if the waveform was changed the ability to adj it could be lost and would require special equipment and knowledge to reset.
Same goes for the PLL. PLL is nothing more then a type of circuit and without knowing what this adjustment is for specifically then you wouldn't know what your are changing. It could be for sync, could be for phase. Maybe it only changes the position of the onscreen menu, but I dought it. Being placed in the factory mode menu surely means that if you change it your projector could stop functioning all toegther.
Basically, think of the words "Factory Mode" to mean:
LEAVE THESE ADJUSTMENTS THE f*ck ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I'm saying dont touch them.......

I was afraid someone was going to say that. I thought for sure someone would have a definitive answer as to what they are or what they do; or everyone is just waiting for me to make adjustments and then start a thread that say, "My 6PG XTRA is DEAD!!!".
I'll still keep looking (but not messing with it.........)

I don't think you will break anything fiddling with DC-H Linear. I certainly adjusted it on my Xtra.

Were the adjustments gobal (did it affect all inputs and resolution settings)?
Thanks.

You know Don, if you look closely at the adjustment pots you'll see they are labeled "Well and Enuff"
You know what you're supposed to do with that don't you?

Don, I'm pretty sure I have tweaked this setting on mine before and didn't notice much difference. I have no clue about it being a global setting or not because I only have one input and resolution setup on my projector.
