Well if you really want the rear cover I think the shipping shouldn't be too bad for that piece, it's large but heavy. Send pay-pal and i'll get it out.

I need both covers, the front one that goes around the lenses and the large rear cover that the remote is under.
Let's make a deal

Tubes, tubes, tubes! Make sure whatever you buy has perfect tubes. The market is getting to the point that anything less than a 9" PJ is worth pretty much nothing if it needs tubes as the cost of re-tubing is pretty much the worth of the PJ (heck, even a 9" is kind of questionable). |
This is good advice from Digital Dave.
I guess there is no love for Chuchuf. He is up in Alpharetta. I think Wanman has a couple of pjs sitting around (stay away from the Mits:)). He is up near the Mall of Ga. I am currently in Stone Mtn, but that is about all I can say about me.
I think Elaine has said this before, but the market is down. I think a NEC PG is about the lowest you should spend anything more than $100 on local. I wouldn't go any more than $1500 for a good 8" LC. Of course if you want to see a real pj, then go to the Coke musuem and see the monster they have at the beginning of the tour. I will be there tomorrow to do some work, but I really just want some Beverly.

Would a 1272 in good usable condition be a good deal for less than $100? I can keep my eyes open for the right deal. Several people have come forward with G70s for $800+ on here and other forums. Some with little burn and some with faroudja line triplers for decent prices.

I am leaning towards a G70 with good tubes and the green is about an 8.5-9 based on what I can determine, just have to get the CFO to sign off on it and it is mine this weekend.

Can someone provide info on which models would fit in the categories below?
1) Best Reliablity
2) Parts Availability
3) Picture Quality
4) Upgrade Availability (input interfaces, lenses, etc.)
5) Noise level (quieter is better, no hush box initially)
I want to narrow down my search in the next few days. I know some models from different vendors use the some of the same parts, so that might play into my decision as well.
