Can cat5e support low rez RGBHV (800X600) over cat5e?
I'm installing a video security system in my house. I have run extra cat5e to many locations to support my existing Crestron system. I never anticipated the need to run a HD-15 line to the kitchen area. Image quality is not a major issue.
I want to hang a 15-17 inch PC lcd for a local monitor. Thanks,

For longer runs you might need something like this....

Thanks Tom. I read a couple of pages of that thread and it sounds as though it will work just fine. As I said, image quality is not the issue as much as functionality. The DVR outputs XGA and composite. The composite will feed the scaler in my rack and will be viewable on screen in the theater when required. The RGBHV will feed a local LCD monitor in the kitchen.

I have to keep a eye on the place. I'm afraid Pete is going to try to sneak in and sabotage my AmPro Laughing

As Pete would say "Only the tubes I'll put them in a Barco"
