I've just purchsed my first CRT projector, after being on the lookout for a cheap one for the last few years.
Purchased on an online auction for NZ$230 in condition unknown state. Got it home, it fires up and seems to run as it should. the green tube is about a 6-7 on the burn scale and red and blue are 9 and 10 respectevly.
What I would like to know is what model I actually have here. The only information I have is that it is a Runco 991 from September 1999. What does this model actually corrospond too in the NEC range?
Is anyone able to help me with this?
Also, its missing its remote, which is a pain in the arse- I'm thinking of trying a Philips Pronto, has anyone tried this before?
Cheers,

If it has MCAT, its an 852, if not, its an XG75

Guess it'll have to wait till I've tracked down a remote before I can tell!
The reason I asked was that looking at the NEC XG rundates, they stopped making any revision of the XG75 in mid '98 and as the Runco says september '99 I hoped that it was unlikely that runco would use something that had been out of production for a year...
fingers crossed I suppose

Then it's probably an XG85, maybe an 852 as Elaine says. Good projector, as long as nobody has mucked with the pots.
