I'm watching a few eppisodes of a Japaneese Anime show called Blood+ it's suprisingly well written.
Are there any Anime fans here?
What are some of your favorites?

This is one of my favorite to date. I know it's not "traditional" anime or whatever but it is really really good in the theater. The surround sound and PQ kick @$$.

Is it really?
Every time I try Anime, it has all the trite crap in all Anime. Akira was supposed to be good--it was crap. The Ghost in the Machine was supposed to be a really great movie, so I tried it. It was crap--complete with the standard Anime baby talking robots and all.
Anime is one of those things I want to like, but I can't find any that is not crap.

I wouldn't mind seeing BD versions of Appleseed and Ghost in the Machine: Innocence.

"Cowboy Be-Bop" is my favorite anime show, and I like it a lot. Sometimes I can watch "Shin-Chen", but I really don't care for much of the popular anime...

AKIRA! -not.
I love Anime, but sadly the writing usually leaves a lot to be desired
Fist of the North star was pretty good, but not the greatest.
I have another one on VHS here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it and tell you the title. It was good... if I remember correctly.
I know it's not quite the same class, but I liked Titan AE.

I think I finished watching 12 or so eppisodes by now. It's a continuing story, there is fighting and blood ( of course ) It's a vampyre based theme with some tie's to Viet Nam. It's good escape-ism

AR Others?
I have never had an interest in anime. To be honest, I have never given it a try. I do still use and enjoy my laser disc collection and stop by a local used record and book store on a regular basis to spend some time browsing. I have seen anime laser discs in the stack. I know nothing about them and have simply just passed them by. If there was any interest, I would be happy to pick them up and ship them out.

Pick one up and give it a watch. Shipping from out there would be prohibitive, that and I don't have a working LD player anymore. I think I wore them out.
