I bought a Samsung DTBH260F ATSC tuner. I hooked it up to my girlfriends Sony D50 via the component inputs. The picture was dark, even at brightness 60 and contrast 80. It also had a strong green push. It looked greener than the Matrix.

I was running 1080i into it.

When I switched back to the RGB input at 480P the picture looked fine.

I brought the ATSC tunner home and ran it into my RCA 42" RPTV, the component looks great. I also tested the HDMI to the HDFury1. It looks good too.

Any ideas?

Mr. Green

I have the D50 also so I'll take a stab at it.

Are you using input A?(if using input B my D50 has a little DIP switch that must be set depending on input type)

Did you switch the projector COMPONENT FORMAT to HDTV-YPBPR in the SET SETTING menu?

Did the VIDEO MEMORY number change to one that possibly has a misadjusted tint and COLOR TEMP settings?

I'm fresh out of ideas, good luck.

Yeah I went into the menu and changed the inpur (the built in one ) to HDTV YPbPr. I ran 1080i into it. I didn't get a chance to check the color balance/menu. I just did a quick setup and we watched Senator Palin on SNL. I did adjust the tint to the purple side just like the days of old. Smile

Then I had 5 drinks in one frosty mug and SNL was all the funnier!

I'll be back at this next month. Just wondering if any D50 owners have seen this when they try component??
