Have any of you Marquee gurus upgraded the small cables connected to the neck boards with the mini-RCA connectors? Is this worth it? If so, what do you recommend?

Tha cable has to be flexible and finding those mini rca's to make your own is hard, the right anlge mini rca's are sold by only one company so far and they only order a minimum of 1000 last time i asked. So i tried to use the straight ones and bend them then use heat shrink to cover the ends. I only made one cable to test out of some way way to thick audio quest silver coated cable. the thinner the jacket you find the easier it is to route. I have sonme silver coated cable form an rgbhv type bundles I think is a Belden type. I got it from Markertek Bulk video cable I bought this One. You can order it by the foot.

here is the web site for the conectors http://www.connect-tech-products.com/index1.php?subtype=Mini%20Phono/RCA%20Plugs&id=14

i used part number CTP-175-7A

Was it worth it?

It appears in comparing the right angle mini RCA plugs to the straight ones that the difference is a small hole in the side of the plug. It would seem to be relatively simple to modify a straight plug to incorporate this hole; indeed a grove would seem to do the trick and would be easier to make.

I presume on the Belden cable you are recommending stripping out strands from the cable as opposed to trying to use a 5 strand cable for each connection; correct?

Some say yes some say no, I haven't made them for mine yet just one for testing on the green tube and didnt notice any improvement but it was only one so all three may, if you don't bend the connector at 90 degree angle it can pull the mini rca jack and break the solder joints on the vim. That cable i linked you to has 5 individual coax cables in it, its about 3/4 inch thick. The individual coax cables are about 1/4 inch in diameter, much thicker than the stock cable. If you use these i would suggest not using them if you plan to do any mods where pulling out any boards and putting them back in would cause you to continually pull out and test the Vim or the VNB's as they will cause strain top the mini rca jacks as i stated before. But if you are just going to make them and ocasionally pul the vim or VNBs for cleaning then you can make them and leave them in. I do a lot of work and testing and found i had to remove it till i am done with my mods.
