Due to a recent major oopsie I have been looking for a replacement green tube for my Ampro 4200. I had a decent 09MEX laying around so I checked it out to see if it could replace the original 09MI. The pinout is the same, the guns look very similar with the G-1 electrodes being slightly different and with the 09MEX the guns are much closer to the end of the tube. The 09MEX works but the focus magnet had to be positioned about 1.25" farther back from the tube face. The 09MEX looks like it is about an inch or so longer, too. It might work in the 4200 but the extra length might be a problem.

If you can get your hands on a P19 tube, I have a neck board for your PJ modded to take a MEC. It's yours for free.

Chip,
Thanks for the offer. Panasonic tubes would be sweet. Your neck card probably came from a model 4205 which was a 4200 manufactured with Panasonic tubes. I don't think the two tube face sizes are the same. The Sony tube faces look HUGE compared to Panasonic ones. I wonder if there was an adapter made for installing Pany tubes in 4200 housings?

I do have some extra AmPro LC housings here but I don't remember what they fit.

I don't suppose you've checked to see if those tubes will fit Marquee housings. I think the face of the tube is larger then MEC's. Can you measure the height and width of the face as it set's into the housing?
